The prices of the upcoming Kwid will sit higher than the ongoing model and the design is inspired by the K-ZE electric car which is seen in the Chinese markets.
The competition of car manufacturers in the Indian market is not new and just today we witnessed the launch of Maruti S Presso and tomorrow its competitor, Renault Kwid facelift will be introduced by the French carmaker.
Renault Kwid facelift launch will see numerous changes to the car, split headlight design for starters. The entry level hatchback was first introduced in 2015 and has garnered a good response in the country.
Till now this hatchback didn’t see any direct competition and pretty much ruled this segment until now when Maruti Suzuki introduced the S Presso. The success of Kwid inspired the Indian manufacturer to bring in the new car.

Renault Kwid facelift comes with a complete exterior makeover with interiors borrowed from its elder sibling, Triber. The car has already started reaching dealerships and it is the Triber edition which has been spotted many times.
We already told you about the split headlight cluster which will come in the hatchback. It will also come with a chrome garnish which is placed in between LED Daytime Running Lights at the top. The taillights now receive LED treatment and gets new front and rear bumpers. There is an addition of vertical reflectors at rear bumper too.
Based on the exterior design only, one can say how modern and good looking the upcoming facelift version of Renault Kwid stands out when compared with the Maruti Suzuki S Presso.
The interior fo the Kwid facelift gets a new touchscreen infotainment system. It is larger than before and is equipped with connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It also gets a new steering wheel from the Triber, digital instrument cluster, new upholstery and a fresh dashboard design are some of the bits from interiors we can expect.

Safety wise, the hatchback will come equipped with an airbag, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminders and high speed alert system as standard. The top model will see dual airbags and reverse parking camera too for added safety.
We expect that Renault Kwid will pack BS4 compliant petrol engines initially. It comes in two engine options – a 0.8L petrol motor which churns out 54 bhp with 72 Nm of peak torque. And another 1.0L unit producing 63 bhp and a torque of 91 Nm.
The engines will be updated before the new emission norms that is April 2020. Its competition, Maruti Suzuki S Presso comes with a 1.0L BS6 engine. The price for the same starts at Rs 3.69 lakh and top end see a range of Rs 4.91 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The prices of the facelifted version of Kwid are not yet known but it is expected to sit at a higher end than the ongoing model. Let’s see how it fares against its rival in terms of pricing and real world experience too.
