The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso that was spotted at the dealership seems to be a base variant as from the teasers we know that the car will boast of more features.
Maruti Suzuki is nearing the launch of the S-Presso on the 30th of September. This is the second car from the company after the Vitara Brezza which has been completely designed and developed in India. Now ahead of its launch, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso has started arriving at the dealerships and here’s a first walk around of this brand new entry-level hatchback from Maruti.
The spotted S-Presso at the dealership seems to a base variant. From the teasers that Maruti Suzuki has released of the S-Presso, we know that the car will get silver coloured wheel covers, body coloured ORVMs and door handles, halogen headlamps and DRLs, blacked-out B-pillar. This one however does not get DRLs and comes with black ORVMs and door handles.
In terms of size, the S-Presso will be bigger than the Alto but its smaller than its arch rival, the Kwid. The S-Presso measures 3,565mm in length, 1,520mm in width and 1,564mm in height with a 2,380mm long wheelbase. The S-Presso is essentially a hatchback that has been made to look like an SUV with quite an upright stance and body claddings and a tall nose with a flat bonnet. The base variants will sit on 13 inch wheels while the top-spec variants will get 14 inch wheels.

Interior details of the S-Presso are very scarce. We have only seen some spy images which reveal that it will get a central mounted instrument cluster. It will also come with a 7-inch floating touchscreen system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay while Maruti’s own SmartPlay system will also be present. It will also receive all the necessary safety features that has been mandated by the government.

As for the powertrain, it will powered by a BS-VI compliant K10B 1.0 liter petrol engine which puts out 67 bhp of power and 90 Nm torque. The engine will come mated to a 5 speed manual transmission or an optional 5 speed AMT. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to introduce a CNG variant of the S-Presso some time later. It will be sold in nine variants and it will retails through the company’s Arena showrooms. The S-Presso will rival the likes of the Renault Kwid and Datsun Redigo and is expected to be priced from Rs. 4 lakhs, ex-showroom.
