The interiors of the SUV sees fewer changes and it is the exteriors and engine which receives major changes. It continues with the same 7.0-inch touchscreen unit on the inside.
Honda recently unveiled the 2020 CR-V in the global markets with a mid-cycle facelift. The SUV is sold in several markets and will make its way to Indian markets late next tear.
The 2020 Honda CR-V facelift carries a minimalistic design approach with changes particularly sticking to the exteriors. The front fascia sees new bumper design along with loads of chrome to add up.
In addition, the SUV now gets a new honeycomb mesh grille design ditching the horizontal bars. The headlight units get darker inserts which gives an agile look to the vehicle. It also gets large LED fog lamps and chrome inserts on the air dam.

The facelifted CR-V remains unchanged from the side profile and the rear sees a new bumper design along with tinted taillights. The car also gets new 19-inch alloy wheels which will only come with the top-end trims.
The cabin of the facelifted CR-V gets the same 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is controlled by Honda suite which provides the necessary information. It also receives dual-zone climate control and a digital instrument cluster. The panoramic sunroof remains with the facelift.
Safety features include ABS with EBD, Hill Start Assist, ISOFIX child mount seats, Six Airbags, Seat Belt Reminders, Brake Assist, Speed Sensing Door Lock and Lane Watch. Basically, the latter gives a wide camera view of the right screen on the centre screen.
Honda has introduced a hybrid motor for the first time. The 2.0-litre petrol motor gets combined with two electric motors which offer 212 bhp which are paired with an AWD system. The hybrid model ensures less fuel consumption.

It is not sure if the hybrid model will come to India or not. In the country, the diesel motor churns out 118 bhp and a healthy torque of 300 Nm. It gets mated to a 9-speed AT gearbox while the petrol motor is available only with a CVT. Claimed fuel efficiency for the oil burner is 19.8 kmpl while that of the petrol stands at 14.4 kmpl.
The current Honda CR-V starts at a premium of Rs 28.33 lakh for the base trim petrol and goes all the way to Rs 32.83 lakh for the all-wheel-drive diesel trim. It competes with the likes of Skoda Kodiaq, Mahindra Alturas G4, Isuzu MU-X, Toyota Fortuner, Volkswagen Tiguan and Ford Endeavour. All prices mentioned above are based on ex-showroom, Delhi.
