The fifth-generation Honda City is expected to be launched at the 2020 Auto Expo
H!onda has embarked its name in the Indian market with the popular City and over the years we have seen generation changes with new updates in styling. And with the Honda City reaching its fifth-generation we tell you how the upcoming 2020 sedan looks like in a rendered image.
The 2020 Honda City spy shots were first caught in the Thailand market followed by Indian markets in Sept’19 and with the help of that, we explain to you the rear profile detailing the car might get through a rendered image.
Honda has always played tastefully with the design of City and kept it subtle according to the needs of buyers. And it is safe to say that the next-gen will keep up to its mark and elegantly fit in the potential market.

The LED taillights at the rear and the chrome strip joining them looks refreshing. And so does the new bumper design with chrome detailing on the rear fog lights. The bootlid sees a wider stance which is seen missing in the current-gen.
Moving to the side profile then it will sit on 16-inch machine-cut alloy wheels and now gets sharpened mirrors. The door panels and side quarter panels follow a minimalistic design.
It is also safe to say that the front fascia will be changed too and it will be more aggressive-looking. The new projector headlamps along with Honda Civic inspired grille design which will give it a sharper stance. Also, the sedan will see a completely new front bumper design.
Talking about the inside, the car will take inspiration from the Civic. A new dashboard design, larger touchscreen which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be on the offer. A lot of convenience features like wireless charging, power-adjustable driver’s seat and among others.

Honda City will continue with the 1.5 Litre petrol and the 1.5 Litre diesel engine with BS-6 compliance. We expect the petrol as well as the diesel engine to get the hybrid system, which will also increase the mileage of the sedan.
For transmission, the petrol variant could come with a 5-speed manual as well as a CVT gearbox. As of now, the diesel variant only comes with a 6-speed manual, which might also get a CVT gearbox as an option.
We expect Honda to showcase the new-gen City at the 2020 Auto Expo or it is better if they just launch it. We can tell you that after a while only now!
