For the list of top 10 selling motorcycles for August 2019, Hero Splendor has again topped the list. The Y-o-Y sales of most of them have suffered badly.
The month of August is no improvement for the auto sector. We have the motorcycles sales for the month, and the market is still down and the most popular models are suffering as well.
In the top 10 selling motorcycles for August 2019, Hero Splendor is as usually the winner. However, it has seen a considerable decline in its yearly sales, but positive growth in its monthly sales. Well, that’s the case with other motorcycles as well.

As we see, Splendor sees a Y-o-Y decline of nearly 14%, from 2.47 Lakh units to 2.12 Lakh units. The monthly sales have increased by 19%, from 1.78 Lakh units in July 2019. The Splendor is followed by the HF Deluxe, CB Shine, both seeing a decline.
The fourth position is taken by Bajaj Pulsar, which has bucked the trend in terms of monthly as well as yearly sales. The difference is not much, but for August 2019 it made 70,562 units compared to 70,051 units in 2018. The M-o-M sales have increased from 62,469 units in July, by 13%.
Following the Pulsar, we have the Hero Glamour, Bajaj Platina, Bajaj CT 100 and Hero Passion. CT 100 has seen a major decline in the Y-o-Y sales by nearly 50% and so has Hero Passion.
TVS Apache takes up the second last position, registering 26,402 unit sales for the month. Its yearly sales are down by 32%, from 39,330 units, but the monthly sales are up by 5%. At the last position, we have the Honda CB Unicorn, which has reported 23,440 unit sales for August.
Automakers are expecting to see an upward in the sales due to the oncoming festive season. But till then, the sales of two-wheelers, as well as four-wheelers, are expected to stay low.
