The Volkswagen Vento facelift features similar updates to the once in the Polo with all the new visual elements and it also sees the introduction of the GT-Line for the first time.
Volkswagen launched the Polo and Vento facelifts in India a couple of days ago. The Volkswagen Vento facelift has been priced from Rs 8.76 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.34 lakh, all prices ex-showroom. Yes, its again just a facelift and that too with very minor differences. Volkswagen has been long holding up the launch of the next-gen Polo and Vento in India. Nevertheless, here in this article we will tell you all that’s new about the Volkswagen Vento facelift.
Exterior Changes
The Volkswagen Vento facelift gets a new gloss-black honeycomb grille with a chrome strip and new bumpers with new fog lamps that have been inspired from the Polo GTI. That was the most easy to spot new feature. Others are way to subtle. It also gets new LED tail lamps and a diffuser at the rear that has also been inspired from the GTI. The new Vento also gets additional black side skirts on the front and the sides.
Interior Features Update
Well, there has been absolutely no changes to the interior design of the Vento facelift. None. It is exactly similar to the older one. However, it gets a new feature called Volkswagen Connect in the infotainment system with various features like service appointment through smartphone, fuel consumption monitoring, breakdown call, portability between other Volkswagen cars and more. It also alerts the dealer in case of an engine malfunction. Some notable features which have been continued from the pre-facelift model are cruise control, the touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, upto 4 airbags, auto AC with rear vents, full LED headlamps, rear parking sensors and ABS with EBD.

New GT-Line introduced
The GT-Line was until now only available with the Polo. However, with this update, Volkswagen has also introduced the GT-Line in the Vento. And the updates are just as similar to the Polo. The top-spec GT-Line gets some additional visual drama in the form of GT-Line decals and GT-Line badge on the fender along with blacked out ORVMs and roof. There’s also a new wheel design finished in gun-metal grey.
Remains the same Mechanically
Under the hood, the Volkswagen Polo facelift remains exactly the same. It continues to be powered by a 1.6L, naturally aspirated petrol engine that puts out 105 bhp. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. There’s also the 1.2L, turbo-petrol engine that also puts out 105 bhp and is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. As for the diesel engine, it continues with the 1.5-litre diesel engine which makes 110PS, and is available with both 5-speed manual and 7-speed DSG auto.

Pricing and Warranty
Volkswagen Vento Facelift | Pre-facelift Volkswagen Vento | |
Petrol | Rs 8.76 lakh to Rs 13.17 lakh | Rs 8.65 lakh to Rs 12.99 lakh |
Diesel | Rs 9.58 lakh to Rs 14.49 lakh | Rs 9.47 lakh to Rs 14.34 lakh |
As for the pricing, Volkswagen is charging a premium of about Rs. 11,000-18,000 for the petrol variants of the Vento. The diesel variants also command a premium of Rs. 11,000-15,000. And that’s fine. The bump in price is not much considering the updates and all the new features do add up to make the Vento look more sporty and premium. Volkswagen is yet to reveal the complete variant wise price break-up but all trims are expected to carry more or less the same amount of premium.
