In a recent development, Toyota is giving a mild facelift to the Yaris, which will include some cosmetic upgrades. Also, the Yaris will go a bit cheaper.
Toyota Yaris is the latest entrant to the C-segment sedan segment, where Maruti Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna are the most popular. Despite being the most safety features equipped, the sales of Yaris have not been that great.
To give some boost to the sales, Toyota is launching a mild facelift of the Yaris, very soon. Reportedly, the brochures and the images of the facelifted sedan have started reaching dealerships.
Toyota will introduce a new and more affordable base variant, which will come under the Rs 9 Lakhs mark. As of now, it starts off at Rs 9.29 Lakhs going up to Rs 14.07 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).

Further, a new top-of-the-line variant will also be introduced, which will sport some new design bits. Toyota Yaris facelift will get new diamond-cut alloy wheels, refreshed interior with premium leather seats, dual-tone colour option and mild refreshment to the rear seat in terms of comfort. Importantly, you also get Apple Carplay and Android Auto on the touchscreen infotainment unit.
We expect the new top-end variant to get these cosmetic differences along with some minor feature additions. The top-end variant is expected to see a price hike of around Rs 20,000-30,000. The new base variant will get a lot of feature cuts, like 3 airbags instead of 7 airbags, which now comes as standard.
Mechanically, the Yaris will remain the same, with the 1.5 Litre petrol unit. The engine produces 108 BHP and 140 Nm of peak torque, with options of a 6-speed MT and a 7-speed CVT gearbox. Just to remember, Toyota offers CVT on all variants of Yaris.
