India’s first electric motorcycle, Revolt RV400 has been launched for an EMI of Rs 3499 (Rs 1.26 lakh, all-inclusive). It gets a riding range of 156 kms and a top speed of 85 km/hr.
The price of Revolt RV400 is finally out and it goes for an EMI of Rs 3499/per month for 3 years (Rs 1.26 lakh, all-inclusive). There is no price tag on the bike and this plan is compulsory for the buyers. Amidst the growing trend of electric two, Revolt brings out our first electric motorcycle, that too, an affordable one.
The electric motorcycle comes with a 3 kW electric. A 72V lithium-ion battery is used, which provides an overall riding range of 156 kms, as claimed by ARAI.
Revolt offers three types of charging solution for the RV 400. You can directly charge the motorcycle from an AC socket. It comes with removable batteries, thus providing the buyers with the option of carrying the battery home and charging it over a 3-way plug. Lastly, Revolt has opened up battery-swap stations, where you can hand your dead battery and get a new one, for a nominal fee.
The weight of RV400 is barely 108 kgs, lighter than some conventional scooters. The wheelbase is 1350mm and the seat height is 814mm. The carrying capacity is 150 kgs, maximum. The electric motor is placed at the bottom of the chassis, but still, you get a ground clearance of 220mm.
The battery takes 4.5 hours to be charged fully and nearly 3 hours to charge it 0-75%. The time taken is high, but you do not have the option of fast charging support. The battery-swap system is called Revolt Switch and through that, you can get the battery delivered at your choice of location.
Other mechanical specs include upside-down forks at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the back for suspension. It gets disc brakes at both the ends with the combi-brake system (CBS) as standard fitment.
Revolt RV400 is also the first AI-enabled motorcycle and the bike comes with an integrated e-sim. The bike is controllable to some level, through the key as well as through the phone, even without Bluetooth connection. The RV400 also comes with four different exhaust note options, one of a cruiser, one of a dirt bike, one of a high-performance bike and its standard exhaust note.
Other features onboard include fully digital speedometer which shows riding range, remaining battery, etc, full LED headlamps, LED taillights, a single-piece high-placed handlebar, single step-up seat and three riding modes(Eco, Normal And Sport). The modes can be used to change the throttle response, braking regeneration and the top-speed. For example, in the first mode, the speed limit is 45 km/hr, but you get almost the entire riding range.
Revolt is offering an unlimited warranty on the battery, which is a segment-first thing. The total warranty on the bike is 5 years and 75,000 kms.
