Next-Gen Hyundai Tucson will draw design cues from the Hyundai HDC-2 Grandmaster Concept and will also come with a seven-seat configuration!
Hyundai seems to be on a roll with a slew of new launches. They have already launched the Venue and Grand i10 Nios this year. Then there’s the facelift of the Elantra, the next-gen i20 and the next-gen Creta which are all arriving very soon. The latest development in Hyundai’s lineup is that they have started testing the next-gen Hyundai Tucson SUV in international markets.
Interestingly, the next-gen Hyundai Tucson will come in two different configurations. There will be the usual five-seater version but there will also be the addition of a new seven-seater version as well. Of course, to accomodate the third row of seats, the SUV will surely grow in terms of dimensions, being both longer and wider than the current-gen Tucson.
As for the styling, the new Tucson will borrow styling cues from the Hyundai HDC-2 Grandmaster concept that was revealed last year. Like all new Hyundai’s, it will get a large ‘cascade grille’ up front with split LED headlamp setup as well. Expect the new Tucson to adopt the family look we are seeing in Hyundai SUVs these days, much like the Venue and the upcoming next-gen Hyundai Creta as well.

The new Tuscon is also expected to be much more premium than the present one. It will be much more luxurious and a couple of captain seats are also expected in the second row. Further, it will get a lot more technology and gadgets, more creature comforts, Hyundai’s connected technology to keep up with latest trends and an advanced telematics system among other high-end features.

All this will however come at a price. The next-gen Hyundai Tucson is expected to have a premium positioning, with prices of around Rs. 30 lakh in our market. The Hyundai Tucson takes on the likes of the Jeep Compass and the Honda CR-V in India. The Tucson sits below the Santa Fe in Hyundai’s lineup in India and this new car is expected to arrive next year.
