The Mercedes-Benz C300D AMG Line and the C 200/C 220d Progressive have been updated with some new features in the face of rising competition.
The current-gen Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been on the roads for about 5 years now. Although the next-gen Mercedes C-Class in already under development and has also been spied several times, Mercedes-Benz India has updated the C-Class with some new features. However, this update of the features is only limited to two of the variants – C300D AMG Line and the C 220d Progressive.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has some revived competition from the newly launched BMW 3-Series in India. This update of features is essentially an attempt to keep the C-Class still competitive. Currently, the C-Class in India comes in the following trims : Prime (C 200 and C 220d); Progressive (C 200 and C 220d); C 300d AMG Line; C 43 AMG coupe and the sensational C 63S AMG with a V8 engine.
Of the two trims to receive the features upgarde, the C 220d Progressive gets wireless charging, Midline sound system with 9 speakers, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and memory function for the driver and passenger seats, which can be programmed to store up to three different seating positions. As for the C 300d AMG Line, it gets all of these before mentioned features and additionally it gets a Night Package which adds high-gloss black inserts on the louvre on the front bumper and an AMG specific front apron and rear bumper along with 18-inch AMG wheels with black finish.

As for the engines in the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, it gets one petrol engine option and two diesel engine options. The C 200 is powered by a 1.5L, 4-cylinder petrol engine which puts out 184 bhp of power. As for the diesel powertrains, the C220d is powered by a 2.0L, in-line 4-cylinder diesel engine which puts out 194 bhp and the top-of-the-line C 300d AMG Line gets powered by a 2.0-litre inline-four diesel unit which puts out 245 bhp.

The C-Class with the updated features is already up for sale from September onwards. However, with this increase in equipment, Mercedes-Benz India have also increased the price of these two particular variants. The C 300d AMG Line and C 220d Progressive are now priced at Rs 49.50 lakh and 46.50 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom India). Prices have increased by Rs 1 lakh for the C 300d AMG Line and Rs 2.25 lakh for the C 220d.
