The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios was launched today but the company had opened bookings from last week which has already crossed 5,000 bookings for this new car.
Hyundai launched the Grand i10 Nios in the country today for a starting price of Rs. 4.99 lakhs, ex-showroom. Although the car was launched today, Hyundai had already started accepting bookings for the Grand i10 Nios from the previous week. At the launch of the Grand i10 Nios today, Hyundai announced that they have already received 5,000 bookings for the car ahead of its launch in the country.
The Grand i10 Nios is the third-generation of the i10 worldwide and India was the first market where where it has been launched. The i10 brand has sold over 2.5 million units worldwide and with this new car, Hyundai wants to establish their dominance in the hatchback segment in the global market. The car will be built at Hyundai’s Chennai Plant and will be exported to other markets as well.
The Grand i10 Nios retains the overall stance of the regular Grand i10 but that’s where the similarities end. The Grand i10 Nios is based on a new platform and its longer and wider than its sibling with a longer wheelbase as well. The face is dominated by a large cascade grille which are flanked by angular DRLs on the edges of the grille. The headlamp units have been completely redesigned with a swept-back look and projector lamps. The fog lamp housing in the bumper too has been redesigned. At the rear, the car gets new tail lamps and bumpers.

The interiors have been completely redesigned too. It gets a new floating infotainment screen which will probably be an 8-inch unit. Gone are the round AC vents as there are new horizontal AC vents below the infotainment screen. It also gets a new automatic climate control unit, a new steering wheel and a 5.3-inch MID with digital speedometer. There are also some textured hexagonal motifs on the dashboard and the door panels which particularly look very quirky.

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios continues with the same engines as is found in the regular Grand i10. That means it will get the 1.2L petrol and diesel engines. The 1.2L petrol engine produces 83 bhp and 114Nm of torque. The 1.2L diesel engine produces 75 bhp and 190Nm of torque. Both engines will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and there will also be the option of the 5-speed AMT found in the Santro. With the bookings already showing a good number, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will make the cut quite well.
