The Triber is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh and it will compete with the likes of Datsun GO+, Ford Figo, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
Renault India has confirmed the launch of Triber for August 28. The fusion of Renault Lodgy and Kwid is a 7-seater car which suffices the needs of modern buyers. It is based on the CMF-A platform which the Kwid uses.
As per the India launch, the bookings for the Renault Triber will start from Aug 17. And one can book the Triber at a token amount of Rs 11,000.
Talking about the design of this new car then the Triber carries a distinct look and upfront is a three slat, U-shaped grille with the company’s logo. The sweptback headlamps have projector units inside and LED DRLs on the bumper. To give the car a certain character, body cladding and silver skids plate do the justice.

Furthermore, the body cladding runs over the sides and the wheel arches and the car sits on 15-inch alloy wheels. The side profile of the car looks like a scaled-down Lodgy and the C-pillar sports a large glass section. The rear profile ends up having a subtle design with horizontal two-part eagle beak tail lamps and Triber badging stretching across the boot lid.
Talking about the cabin, then the Triber gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit which boasts connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets push-button start, Smart Access card for keyless entry, cooled glove box, digital instrument cluster and among others.
Safety features onboard include ABS with EBD, Four Airbags – driver, passenger and front sides: a segment-first for the top trim, high-speed alert system, front seat belt reminder, rear parking sensors, three-point seat belts for all the three rows and will come with a reverse camera on offer.

The Renault Triber houses a 1.0L, three-cylinder petrol engine which churns out 72PS of power at 6,250 rpm and 96Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. The power and torque figures are fine for a 1.0L, three-cylinder engine but seem a little low for the car it has been put on.
The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual or an EASY-R AMT gearbox options. Renault says the new motor offers the right balance between performance and economy. This engine is completely new for Renault India’s lineup and it comes with dual VVT system that allows for responses at all revs.
