Triumph is planning to bring the new Speed Triple 1160 in production, as per global media. It will be launched in 2020, along with many new Triumph bikes.
Triumph Speed Triple 1160 is reportedly under development, which will be a part of the manufacturer’s new lineup for the global market. Reports suggest that the testing of the bike has already commenced.
In the global market, there is Street Triple which uses a 765cc engine and the Street Triple uses a 1050cc engine. The new model will be more powerful and will result in offering better power and torque figures.
The engine capacity will increase by around 110cc and the engine bore will also be increased. In the current specification, it produces 148 BHP and the new engine is likely to produce 10-20 BHP more.

The engine update will also help the model in clearing Euro-5 emission norms. Further, the report suggests that Triumph Speed Triple 1160 will sit on a completely new frame and subframe. The re-inforced frame will make it a bit lighter and better in ergonomics.
The Speed Triple 1160 will also get new electronic updates such as cornering ABS, stability control, new headlamps, Bluetooth-enabled TFT colour screen with inbuilt navigation and much more.
The styling of the Street Triple 1160 will be refreshed and will be a bit inspired by the flagship Rocket 3. Reports suggest that the new model will be styled to offer an even more aggressive look.

The bike is likely to continue with the same 43mm OHLINS upside-down forks with adjustable pre-load at the front and OHLINS Twin-tube monoshock with rebound damping at the back.
Triumph will continue to sell it under S and RS variants and some components like bi-directional quickshifter will be standard across both the variants. It will compete against the likes of Yamaha MT-10 and BMW S1000R.
