Our dealership sources have confirmed that the deliveries of Kia Seltos will commence very soon after the launch, in this month itself.
Kia Seltos is set to be launched in India on 22nd August and will enter the compact SUV segment, rivalling the likes of Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, MG Hector and some variants of Jeep Compass as well.
Ahead of the launch, we got to know that the deliveries of the Kia Seltos will commence very soon after the launch, by the end of this month itself. The bookings of the SUV have already commenced and it has received record-breaking booking figures of 6046 units in a day.
The waiting period for the deliveries of Kia Seltos is unknown as of now, which will be cleared once the SUV is launched. Kia’s first SUV in India is expected to be priced between Rs 10 Lakhs to Rs 16 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

Kia is offering 3 engine options on the Seltos, including a 1.5 Litre petrol, a 1.4 Litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5 Litre diesel engine. Also, it is the first car in India to be offered with four types of transmission options. All the variants get a 6-speed manual as standard, the petrol one gets a CVT, the turbo-petrol gets a DCT and the diesel gets an AT.
The petrol engine produces 115 BHP and 144 Nm of peak torque. The turbo-petrol unit produces 142 BHP and 242 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine produces 115 BHP and 250 Nm of torque.
Along with this, Kia has packed this car with many segment-first features like Heads Up Display, Air Purifier and Blind View monitor. Other highlights include a 10.25-inch touchscreen with UVO connect, 360-degree camera and Bose Sound System.

Kia Seltos will be available in two variants – GT Line and the HT Line, the former for the petrol and turbo-petrol variants. The petrol variant will come on the GTK and GTX variant only, but the turbo unit will come on all variants.
Since Kia is a sub-brand of Hyundai Motor Global, the Seltos is based on the platform of Creta. The latter will get a new version in India next year and will use the engines from the Seltos SUV.
