Maruti XL6 is set to be launched this month and ahead of its launch, its dimensions have been leaked. Turns out that the XL6 is a bit bigger than Ertiga.
Maruti is launching a new premium MPV in India, the XL6 on 21st August. The six-seater MPV is based on the Ertiga but looks a bit different and more premium as well. It has been spied testing in India a lot of times now.
Just weeks before the launch, Autocar India has leaked the dimensions of the Maruti XL6. Going by the figures, it seems to be larger than the regular Ertiga. Although, the Ertiga is a 7-seater while the XL6 is a 6-seater.
Dimensions | XL6 | Ertiga |
Length | 4,445 mm | 4,395mm |
Width | 1,775mm | 1,735mm |
Height | 1,700mm | 1,690mm |
Wheelbase | 2,740mm | 2,740mm |

Seeing the dimensions above, the Maruti XL6 is 50mm longer, 40mm wider and 10mm taller. The wheelbase remains the same at 2740mm since that would require a new or a revised platform altogether.
XL6 is positioned as a premium alternative to the Ertiga. That’s why you get six individual captain seats which make the cabin look more roomy and comfortable. Captain seats are usually found in premium MPVs and are considered a better style statement.
Inside the cabin, you get an all-black dashboard theme with black seats. The XL6 will be based on the top-spec Alpha and Zeta trims of the regular Ertiga. The new features onboard will include a height-adjustable driver seat, the new SmartPlay infotainment and cruise control as some.
Talking about its styling, Maruti has offered a rugged look to the XL6. That is indicated by the plastic cladding around the body, faux aluminium silver skid plates at both the ends and bolder creases on the front and rear bumper. Further, the XL6 will use full LED projector headlamps.

Maruti XL6 will be available with the new 1.5 Litre petrol engine with the mild-hybrid SHVS system. The engine produces 104 BHP and 138 Nm of peak torque. The MPV is likely to go with the same transmission as of the Ertiga – a 5-speed MT and a 4-speed torque converter gearbox.
We expect the XL6 to be priced around the 12 Lakh range since the top-spec Ertiga goes up to 11 Lakhs. It will be sold through NEXA dealerships whereas the regular Ertiga goes through regular Maruti dealerships.
