Fresh reports say that Suzuki might launch a new entry-level adventure motorcycle in India, using the newly developed 250cc engine from the Gixxer SF 250.
The entry-level adventure motorcycle segment is booming as we see the success of Royal Enfield Himalayan and the Hero XPulse Twins in recent times. Also, the ADV segment is, in turn, getting attention in the Indian market.
Now, Bikewale reports that Suzuki is planning for a 250cc adventure motorcycle in India, which will be placed in the entry-level ADV segment. The company says that there is a good response for small ADVs in the Indian as well as global markets.
The new Suzuki adventure motorcycle will use the 250cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine from the recently launched Gixxer SF 250. As of now, there is no quarter-litre ADV in India, so it will have some indirect competition.

The report further suggests that the new ADV will look similar to the V-Strom motorcycles and especially the V-Strom 250, which is available in the global markets. In India, we directly get the V-Strom 650.
Further, the new Suzuki ADV will be lightweight and will be locally manufacturer to keep the costs in check. Further, it might sit on a completely new subframe along with revised suspension setup.
The 250cc engine produces 26.1 BHP and 22 Nm of peak torque, while mated to a 6-speed gearbox. We can see the same power figures on the ADV but the gearing ratios will be altered for the ultimate off-roading experience.

Once it comes to India, it will rival the likes of Hero Xpulse 200 and 200T which are the most affordable ADVs in India. It might be priced around Rs 1.2-1.5 Lakhs (ex-showroom), thus also rivalling the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
As of now, the ADV is under development and planning process. It would not be launched before 2021 and will be made in India but designed at Suzuki’s home ground in Japan.
