Reports suggest that Royal Enfield will offer a more affordable motorcycle based on the platform of Bullet. The new model could cost near Rs 1-1.15 Lakhs.
Royal Enfield is reportedly planning to expand its lineup with a new motorcycle based on the Bullet. It will be a more affordable Royal Enfield, which is expected to pick up the declining sales of the manufacturer.
As we see the current conditions, automakers are experiencing a major slump in the sales for the past few months. Royal Enfield is one such brand who has seen a 19% decline in the sales of this year compared to the last year.
The more affordable Royal Enfield is likely to be priced near Rs 1.1 Lakhs (ex-showroom) to widen its reach to more customers. As of now, the most affordable model from their stable is the Bullet 350, priced at Rs 1.21 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

Autocar reports that the new variant will be based on the Bullet 350 and will be offered with kick as well as electric start. The design will be a bit different with revised fuel tank badge and a blacked-out engine. There are chances of less chrome detailing on this variant.
Further, it will continue to run on spoke wire wheels along with tube tires which will keep the costs a bit down. New colour options like on the Thunderbird X might be offered on this version as well.
The new Royal Enfield motorcycle will be available in a single variant only with a 350cc engine. The same 346cc air-cooled engine will be used, which produces 19 BHP and 28 NM of peak torque. The engine comes paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

With this, we expect the new Royal Enfield to go against the likes of Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, which are both priced around Rs 1.10 Lakhs. At this price point, it will actually get a good response in the market.
Autocar states that the new variant could just be launched in a month or two and that’s when the festive season kicks in.
