The mid-size SUV segment which includes the likes of the Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass and the upcoming Kia Seltos is one of the most competitive segments in the Indian market right now. The competition is so close that all manufacturers are trying to out do the others on account of exclusive segment first features and conveniences. One such feature is the much loved sunroof. Tata is now offering a sunroof as an official accessory on the Harrier.
This moves comes in the face of the competition where all the other SUVs get a sunroof. The Jeep Compass and the MG Hector even offer panoramic ones. Tata had to step up their game, and seven months after the introduction of the Harrier, it finally gets a sunroof as an official accessory. The sunroof was a much waited for accessory on the Harrier.
The Tata Harrier sunroof is available for a price of Rs. 95,066. It would be available to both new and existing customers and dealers have already started accepting orders. However, installation charges are not inclusive in this price and will have to be paid for additionally. Yes, one could say that its rather expensive to put on a sunroof on the Harrier for about a lakh, but such is the pricing. The sunroof has a warranty applicable for 2 years from the date of installation.

The new entrants in this segment – the Kia Seltos and the MG Hector – have been recieved very well. The Kia Seltos received over 6k bookings in just one day as bookings were commenced and the MG Hector is already sold out for 2019 with over 21k bookings. Reacting to such demands, Tata even launched a dual-tone paint scheme on the Harrier some time ago. The next set of updates for the Harrier would be introduction of a BS-VI engine and an automatic transmission.

Meanwhile Tata is also readying the seven-seater version of the Harrier that was showcased at this year’s Geneva motor show. The SUV has already been spotted testing several times and the seven-seater version of the Harrier is expected to arrive sometime early next year. This segment just keeps on surprising with how every manufacturer is taking on the competition.
