Maruti has launched the new XL6 in India, with prices starting at Rs 9.79 Lakhs. Here, we have explained the differences between Ertiga and XL6.
Maruti has launched the new premium XL6 MPV, which is based on the Ertiga but looks different. The Xl6 is priced from Rs 9.79 Lakhs to Rs 11.64 Lakhs (Ex-showroom), making it a bit costlier than the regular Ertiga.
The new version is based on the top-end variants of the regular Ertiga, which already goes up to Rs 11 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Along with a plethora of cosmetic upgrades, it also gets some feature additions and slight mechanical changes.
Here are some differences between the new Maruti XL6 and the Maruti Ertiga:
1. Cosmetic Upgrades
The main difference is that the XL6 looks much-botched up and a bit premium than the regular one. You get a completely new front honeycomb grille with a two-slat chrome grille, revised headlamps and DRLS. The plastic body cladding comes around the entire MPV. It continues with the same alloy wheels from the regular model but gets a blacked-out treatment. The tail portion looks the same with the new XL6 badging. Lastly, to complete the sporty look, you also get aluminium faux skid plates and roof rails.
2. Interiors
Inside the cabin, you get fresh blacked out interiors with leather seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel. An all-black interior makes the cabin look a bit up-market. The Ertiga gets a dual-tone beige and grey dashboard which looks subtle but not premium.
3. Seating Arrangement
Another big difference between both the versions is that the XL6 gets individual captain seats on all the three rows, making it a 6-seater. The regular Ertiga is a 7-seater with a three-seater bench at the third row.
4. Updated Engines
The 1.5 Litre petrol engine, which produces 104 BHP and 138 Nm of torque, comes on the XL6. The engine comes paired with the 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed AT will be offered. The 1.5 Litre diesel engine is not being updated to BS-6 norms as of now but is expected to make an appearance, later next year. The petrol engine comes BS-6 compliant and the engine also comes with Maruti’s SHVS mild-hybrid technology.
5. Features
Maruti XL6 comes with some new features that include:
- Cruise Control
- LED reflector headlamps
- LED DRLs
- 6 Individual captain seats
6. Prices and Variants
Maruti XL6 (Ertiga Cross) is only available in the Alpha and Zeta variants, the top-spec variants. The prices start off at Rs 9.79 Lakhs up to Rs 11.64 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Whereas, the regular Ertiga starts off at Rs 7.54 Lakhs up to Rs 11.22 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
