Kia Seltos comes with Heads up Display and Blind Spot Monitor which is a first in its segment.
The much anticipated mid-size SUV, Kia Seltos, will see its mass production from July 31. South Korean manufacturers will roll out the vehicle from Anantapur where the SUV is locally manufactured.
The reports said Kia Motors will roll out the first car from its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Anantapur, in the state of Andhra Pradesh on July 31. With this, the company will begin the mass production of the Kia Seltos for the Indian market.
The Anantapur facility is spread across 536 acres and has a production facility of up to 3 Lakh units which eventually will in Kia’s export sales too. Earlier in January, the manufacturer said that they have started the trial production of the Kia Seltos.

One of the senior officials at Kia also revealed that this plant will see the production of three more cars in the next two years. Kia has invested a total of 2 billion dollars in India including 1.1 billion dollars at the plant alone.
Kia Motors India Managing Director and CEO, Kookhyun Shim, will witness the ceremony of first Seltos being rolled out. The event will be attended by entirely of Kia Motors management.
Talking about the car, Kia Seltos received over 6,000 official bookings in just one day. Surprisingly, more than 1,600 bookings were received through their online portal. With these numbers, it is expected to take on the likes of MG Hector which has received over 20,000 since its launch and now the bookings have closed temporarily.
Upon launch, Kia Seltos will be available in two trims – Tech line and GT Line. Under the hood, it packs three BS6 engines and offers four transmission options. A six-speed manual gearbox is across all trims while the options for automatic varies from DCT, CVT and AT gearbox.

The engine options include a 1.5-litre oil burner producing 115 bhp with 250 Nm of peak torque. It will come with 6-speed AT. The naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol motor produces 115 bhp and 144 Nm of torque and is mated to a CVT. The much powerful 1.4L Turbo petrol engine churns out 142 bhp and a healthy torque of 242 Nm. It gets a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
Kia Seltos will launch on August 22 and the prices of the mid-size SUV are still unknown. However, we can expect it to sit between Rs 11 lakh – Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). With this, it will compete with Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500, Nissan kicks, Renault Captur and entry levels of the Jeep Compass.
