Upcoming cars from Tata include the 7-seat Harrier, Premium hatchback, micro SUV and more.
We have all been known to the new design philosophy used by Tata Motors. The impact 2.0 design first came with the Harrier, a mid-size SUV. Now, the brand plans to enter the premium hatchback segment with the Altroz which also follows a similar design structure. We cover all the upcoming cars from Tata motors that will launch from Festive season this year to the end of 2020.
Tata Altroz (expected launch by last week of September)
The much-awaited car from Tata Motors is the Altroz which will directly sit with the established premium hatchback vehicles. The competition includes Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and Toyota Glanza.
Showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo with name 45X, it is based on the ALFA platform. This platform is versatile and is not limited to different body styles but is also ready to deliver pure electric or hybrid cars in the future.
It will get the same 1.2-litre petrol from Tiago and 1.5L turbocharged diesel engine as that of Nexon. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual for petrol and 6-speed manual gearbox and the automatic trims will be launched later.

Tata Harrier Automatic and Sunroof Availability
Ever since its launch in January’19, the mid-size SUV has been eating up the sales of Jeep Compass and Mahindra XUV500, both of which are its rivals. The sales figure have been topping up thanks to the unique design and the uber loads of features inside.
However, with the rising competition of MG Hector and the upcoming Kia Seltos, both of which are mid-size SUVs, the Harrier effect is seeming to fade away because it is not equipped with the latest features.
For starters a sunroof which is a must and then an automatic transmission for the ease of driving. All the cars in this segment get equipped with a sunroof and come in automatic trims.
Tata Harrier 7-seater
The manufacturer showcased the Buzzard at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. Tata Buzzard is an increased version of Harrier 5-seater and the SUV adds up the third row to accomodate 7 people.
It will come with a new BS6 compliant engine which will be seen on the regular 5-seater harrier too. This motor will be the same, a 2.0L FCA sourced turbocharged diesel engine but now with an increased power output by 170 bhp. Torque figures will remain static at 350 Nm.
Tata Tiago/Tigor Facelift
Other than the cosmetic changes, the biggest change for the facelifted Tiago and Tiogor will be under the hood. It will continue to get the petrol engine, obviously, the 1.2-litre will be BS6 compliant before April 2020 but the diesel engine will be discontinued.

Yes, the 1.05-L engine will not be upgraded to BS6 norms. The cosmetic changes will include some changes at the front and rear bumpers, tweaked taillights, headlights and some interior changes.
Tata Nexon Facelift
The compact SUV from Tata Motors is the safest car of its segment. With the facelift, we expect some changes to the exteriors and interiors with some added features. It competes with the likes of Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport and Mahindra XUV300.
Tata H2X Hornbill
The homegrown automaker’s micro SUV is expected to launch next year. The car will be placed below the Nexon and will compete with the Mahindra KUV100 NXT and the upcoming Maruti S Presso. It will sit on the ALFA platform, same as that of Altroz.
