Toyota has reportedly showcased the Vellfire MPV to the dealerships in India. The upmarket MPV will be placed much above the Innova Crysta segment.
Toyota Innova is going to get a big brother. Actually, it will be a much bigger brother than what you expected. Toyota is reportedly launching Vellfire MPV, a premium MPV that rivals the likes of Mercedes Benz V-Class.
Toyota Vellfire has been showcased to the dealerships in India, at a recent event. Team-BHP has leaked some photos of the MPV along with a brochure. It is placed under the Toyota Alphard in the global markets.
A premium Toyota is likely to enter the Indian market via CBU route. It might be priced an upward of 70 Lakhs (ex-showroom), to rival the only premium MPV in that class, Benz V-Class. The latter has received a good response from the Indian market.

At the front, you get split LED headlamps with DRLs flanking a thick chrome grille with the Toyota badging. The bumper is quite long and the fog lamps are placed at the bottom of the bumpers.
You get the proper electronic sliding door on the Vellfire. Also, it looks a bit sporty than the Alphard, but is a proper premium people mover, for the upper-class of India.
Toyota Vellfire will get a 2.5 Litre dual VVTi engine in India, with an electric motor, making it a hybrid. The engine produces 180 BHP and 230 Nm of peak torque, mated to a CVT gearbox.

The product brochure shows that it will get features such as Powered extendable Ottoman recline seat, command center, ventilated and heated seats, memory seats, twin moon-roof, sunshades, ambient lighting, individual seat tables, Auto AC, sequential turn lights, personal sport lights, wireless charger and much more.
The interiors get a completely blacked-out treatment. Safety features onboard will include 7-airbags, blind-spot monitor and much more. With this, a businessman can have his meetings inside as well.
We can expect it to be seen in India either later this year or at the 2020 Auto Expo. With the Land Cruiser and the Prado, Toyota will have its third premium model for India.
