The second in line is the Honda Amaze which also gives the Dzire a good competition.
The sedan segment in India is widely popular with cars like Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Honda Amaze and among others. But none of the cars whether in the sub-4-metre segment or the mid-size sedan saw an increase in sales.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) tops the chart with its compact sedan, Dzire. They managed to sell a total of 14,868 units as opposed to the 24,465 units in June 2018 and accounted for a degrowth of 39%.
Second in line for the top-selling sedans is the Honda Amaze. The manufacturer sold a total of 5,306 units. Last year, for the same month, Honda sold 9,103 units of Amaze.

Honda City, one of the most popular mid-size sedans saw a fall of 37% in sales followed by its competition Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. The latter comes with a petrol mild-hybrid engine which provides a better fuel economy. It sold a total of 2,322 units for June 2019, making it the only sedan to make a growth of 47% in sales.
Hyundai Verna, on the other hand, saw a decline in 42% of sales accounting to 2,271 units being sold as opposed to the 3,901 units. Hyundai Verna sees maximum sales in their diesel trims compared to the petrol ones. It is available in three engine options – two diesel and one petrol engine.

Skoda Rapid saw a degrowth of 29% and units limited to 612 only for June this year. The Tigor from Tata suffered a higher loss at 67% with total units for June 2019 being to 1,438 opposed to 2,674 units for the same month last year.
With 63% lump in sales of Ford Aspire units dropped to 463 for June 2019, Tata Zest saw a decline in sales by 46% with total units limited to 525. Hyundai sold a total of 2,172 units of Xcent this month.
