With this new update, only the top of the line trim, W11, of Mahindra XUV500 receives Apple CarPlay.
Mahindra XUV500 finally gets Apple CarPlay as a connectivity feature with the new update. Earlier the infotainment system used to come with the Android Auto, smartwatch support, Ecosense, emergency call, connected apps and more.
Mahindra XUV500 was the only SUV in its segment to not come with Apple CarPlay until now with the update. Its competitor Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier and Hyundai Creta all get the connectivity features.
Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales and Marketing – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “At Mahindra, our vehicle offers consumers Accessible Technologies. The introduction of Apple CarPlay enhances the convenience & connectivity offered by the XUV500 and will generate a lot of interest among our potential customers.

Apple CarPlay offers easy access to calls, music and Siri search by connecting the user’s iPhone with the infotainment system of Mahindra XUV500. CarPlay automatically brings useful information from the user’s iPhone and organises it into a simple UI that appears just when required on the infotainment system.
CarPlay has been designed keeping in mind the safety of the driver and passengers. With a simple and intuitive interface, integrated steering controls and powerful voice-activated functions, Apple CarPlay minimises distraction and enables the driver to stay focused on the road.

Mahindra XUV500 is available in two engine options. A 2.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor churns out 120 bhp with 320 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options here include a 6-speed AT gearbox. The 2.2L diesel engine produces 155 bhp and 360 Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed AT.
A few weeks back we spotted a BS-VI compliance XUV500 along with other Mahindra cars. However, if reports are to be believed then the new engine will be seen in the new-gen Mahindra XUV500 which is expected to be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo alongside the mighty Thar. It will sit on new chassis and features will be loaded up to the brim which will make it easier to compete with its rivals. We expect a certain price increase when the new XUV500 gets launched in Indian markets.
