Tata Harrier receives fresh updates to resolve the problems which were faced by the owners before. New models will come with the update but the existing owners will be called upon by dealers based on their chassis number.
Tata Motors are finally looking out to the problems addressed by the owners and the media to fix the Harrier issues. There is nothing major but changes which are somewhat necessary to make the mid-size SUV a premium in its segment.
Tata Harrier suffered problems related to NVH levels, light steering wheel, unresponsive light clutch among others. But seems like, Tata has listened to all and will now fix these problems faced by the users.
The new updates include new R10.X software update which overcomes the minor glitches reported by Media on pre-production cars. In addition to this, better NVH levels for a smooth and silent cabin experience like never before. It also gets improved responsive soft touch clutch which helps in giving the optimal response when needed.

The steering wheel felt vague and lighter when clocking on higher speeds but with this new update, steering wheel mechanism feels responsive and gives better feedback than before.
These changes will be seen on the new models of Tata Harrier. The existing customers of the SUV, based on their chassis number will be contacted by the dealers for the same.
Tata Harrier is based on the Land Rover D8 architecture and the SUV follows an Impact 2.0 Design Philosophy. It gets split headlight design with LED DRLs on the top and the main headlamp cluster in the front bumper. The D8 architecture underpins the Land Rover Discovery Sport.
Tata Harrier is available only in a 2.0-litre FCA sourced diesel engine which churns out a total of 140 bhp with 320 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include only a 6-speed manual gearbox. Although, an automatic is in the works and is expected to launch later this year.
Tata is also working on a 7-seater Tata Harrier which is scheduled to launch later this year. The SUV will get the same engine as seen on the 5-seat Harrier but the maximum output will be 170 bhp and torque remaining the same at 320 Nm. A 6-speed torque converter AT unit from Hyundai will be sourced and 6-speed manual transmission will come as standard.
Tata Harrier gets many convenience features like an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Automatic climate control followed by an 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, auto headlamps, push-button start, rear AC vents and more.

Safety features onboard include Anti Lock Braking System, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution, Child Seats Anchor Points, Traction Control, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Program, Six Airbags, Reverse Parking Sensors and Seat Belt Reminders.
The prices for Tata Harrier starts from Rs 13.01 lakh for the base trim XE and goes all the way up till Rs 16.87 lakh for the top-spec XZ, Dual Tone. It competes with the likes of Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass, Kia Seltos, MG Hector and Hyundai Creta. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi.
