Jeep recently introduced an automatic transmission with the Trailhawk with BS6 engine. Now the brand is focusing on bringing the Compass Limited 4×4 with the same spec.
Jeep recently launched the much-awaited Compass Trailhawk that came with an automatic transmission and interestingly the engine on offer is BS6 compliant. Now, the recent spy shots captured hints the same engine spec and transmission will come to other variants too of regular Compass.
In the spied photos, the trim here is the Limited with 4×4 availability. It gets a 9-speed automatic gearbox and BS6 engine configuration. Mind you, this same trim is available in India but is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission only.
The power output remains the same at 171 bhp at 3750 rpm and 350 Nm of peak torque at 1750 rpm. The ARAI certified mileage for the manual version stands at 17.01 kmpl and there can be a slight drop in the mileage for the automatic trim.

Feature-wise, the Jeep Compass BS6 gets not change. It continues to sport an 8.4-inch touchscreen music system with Apple Car and Android Auto as connectivity features. It also gets projector headlamps with LED DRLs and LED tail lights.
Dual-pane panoramic sunroof, automatic headlamps, rain sensing front wipers, 8-way driver adjustable powered seat with memory function, leather upholstery and leather-wrapped steering wheel, push start/stop button, 6-speaker surround system among others are some of the features which the Limited Plus 4×4 possess.
Safety features on board get limited to 6-airbags, Cornering Fog Lamps, Electronic Parking Brake, Electronic Stability Control, Seat Belt Reminders, Child Seat Anchor Points, ABS with EBD, Traction Control System, Hill Hold Control, Rear parking sensors and rear camera.

The current Jeep Compass Limited 4×4 starts at Rs 23.11 lakh. With the inclusion of BS6 engine and a 9-speed automatic gearbox, the prices will see a higher side than the current one. Jeep Compass Trailhawk prices start at Rs 26.8 lakh and the optional trim sets you back by Rs 27.6 lakh. All prices mentioned are specific to ex-showroom, Delhi.
Currently, Jeep is also looking to expand its market and is gearing up for a D-segment SUV and a Compact SUV in 2020-21. Jeep currently has a portfolio of three cars comprising of Compass, Wrangler and Grand Cherokee.
The D-segment SUV will be called Jeep Grand Compass and will come with 3rd-row seats to rival with Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Isuzu MU-X and Honda CR-V. It will pack more features and power under the hood and will offer off-road capabilities, which is the USP of Jeep.
