At a recent interview, Bajaj officials confirmed the launch of a new bike in the mid-segment. We evaluate what could the new model be?
In an interview to CNBC, Rakesh Sharma, ED of Bajaj Auto confirmed the launch of a new Bajaj bike this month. To be sure, the official also stated that they have launched two new commuter motorcycles.
As we all know, the auto-sector sales have been sluggish and most of the manufacturers are experiencing a downfall. However, Bajaj Auto is one such brand to grow in the midst of declining industry sales.
The BS-6 emission norms has kept everyone on toes as all the companies are working towards development of their engines. While some have already started launching their BS-6 models, some are still in the development process.

Coming back to the launch of a new Bajaj bike this month, there are a lot of possibilities. The mid-segment includes bikes between 125cc to 150cc, which could likely indicate to an entrant in the Pulsar range.
Could it be the Bajaj Pulsar NS125? The entry-level Pulsar replaces the LS135, and was recently launched in Colombia. It is speculated to launch in India soon as LS135 was a very popular model and generate more than average sales.
If the Pulsar 150 Neon ABS goes for Rs 68,000, imagine the price range of NS125. It would range around 60K, which will immediately boost up Pulsar’s sales. Also, being a 125cc motorcycle, it would not require ABS, becoming one of the most-affordable sporty 125cc motorcycles.

Recently, the Pulsar 150 ABS with BS-6 emission was spied. Will it be Bajaj’s first BS-6 motorcycle in India launching this month? There are chances as Honda has already unveiled its BS-6 Activa 125 and Hero Motocorp has received the certification for it.
