Tata Harrier Dual Tone comes into effect as the Indian Manufacturer marks the celebration of 10,000 SUVs in the country since its launch.
Tata Harrier has always been an intimidating SUV and was eating the sales of Mahindra XUV500 and Jeep Compass. Harrier follows an Impact 2.0 design philosophy with split headlight design and an OMEGA architecture for its tough body. However, with the rising competition of MG Hector which offers a range of features, Tata decided to play along and first hiked the prices of Harrier and now brought dual tone shades in its lineup.
Tata Motors launched the dual tone colour options at a price tag of Rs 16.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). At a premium of Rs 20,000, one can choose the dual tone shade for Orcus White and Callisto Copper, both offer a black roof and is made available in the range-topping XZ trim. We can say that it is the Hector effect, but Harrier just completed a 10,000 milestone and to celebrate this, the dual tone shade came into effect.
Sibendra Barman – Vice President, Sales Marketing and Customer Support, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (PVBU), Tata Motors said, “Harrier has made waves in the market ever since it was showcased in the Auto Expo 2018 as the H5X concept and subsequently launched in January 2019. Overwhelmed by the response received, we are extremely delighted to offer the Harrier in dual tone colour options.”

“This is in line with our continuous endeavour to excite and wow our customers with cars that deliver stunning design and exhilarating performance. With the launch of the dual-tone colour options, we are confident that Harrier’s desirability will rise further to a whole new level,” he added.
With the introduction of dual tone shade, Tata Harrier is now available in a total of Seven colour options – Thermisto Gold, Telesto Grey, Orcus White, Ariel Silver, Calisto Copper, Orcus White and Calisto Copper with black roof.
Currently, Tata Harrier carries its power from an FCA sourced diesel engine which churns out 140 bhp with 350 Nm of peak torque. The power has been detuned and provides variable geometry turbocharger which helps in better torque distribution over the whole range.
While these may be some changes to the skin, a major update under the hood is going to happen later this year. A 170 bhp Kryotec diesel engine will come into place with a choice of an automatic gearbox too. The diesel engine will be BS-VI, according to the upcoming emission norms due in April 2020.

What’s more is the availability of a 7-seater SUV, Buzzard, which is based on the Harrier only. The front fascia will be similar and changes will be seen on the inside with the addition of a third row and to the rear end with tweaked bumpers and tail light. The length of the car will be increased too as to accommodate the third-row bench.
Tata Harrier prices start at Rs 13.0 lakh for the base trim XE and goes up to Rs 16.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the XZ trim. With the introduction of new shades, we hope it still offers the likability to the buyers as it was providing before.
