MG Hector SUV, India’s one of the earliest Connected cars has been launched. It is available with a petrol, a petrol-hybrid and a diesel engine.
MG Motors makes its debut in India, with the Hector SUV. The prices of MG Hector start from Rs 11.49 Lakhs going up to Rs 16.59 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It is available with three engine options.
The bookings for the SUV commenced a couple of weeks back for Rs 50,000. Currently, the dealerships are being launched in different cities and there will be a total of 120 dealers.
These prices of MG Hector are very competitive, as the SUV goes against the likes of Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming Kia Seltos. These prices also overlap the prices of Hyundai Creta, which start from Rs 9.99 Lakhs going up to Rs 15 Lakhs.

The petrol variants start off at Rs 11.49 Lakhs up to 15.99 Lakhs. The diesel variants only get MT, priced from Rs 12.69 Lakhs to Rs 15.69 Lakhs. The petrol-hybrid version also comes with MT, as the petrol version gets a 7-speed DCT as an option.
The 1.5 Litre turbocharged petrol produces 143 BHP at 5000 RPM and 250 Nm at 3600 RPM. The hybrid version produces the same figures, but offers a better claimed mileage of 15.81 kmpl, compared to 14.16 kmpl of the petrol.
The 2.0 Litre turbocharged diesel engine is the same that comes on Harrier and Compass, but in a different tuning. The engine produces 170 BHP at 3750 RPM and 350 Nm at 25000 RPM, delivering 17.41 kmpl.

MG Hector will be available in four variants – Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. Some of the premium highlights include LED headlamps, 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment, Cruise Control, I-Smart Internet car technology, voice command, electronic adjustable driver seat, Tyre pressure monitoring, Panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, Powered Tail gate, Heated ORVMs and much more.
Safety features onboard include rear disc brakes, 7 airbags, rear parking sensors, Auto Headlamps, Rain Sensing Wipers, Front parking Sensors and Follow Me Home Headlamps.
