The latest update on the 2019 Bajaj Dominar has worked out well for the manufacturer. The sales of power cruiser seem normal again.
The 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 saw a slew of updates in the month of April which not only improved the motorcycle significantly, but also improved the sales of the Dominar. Let’s look into the updates in a little more detail and then we will see how the sales have been impacted.
The 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 is now 2 kgs heavier than the outgoing model, thanks to several new updates. The bike now gets dual exhausts that sounds much deeper the USD forks at the front have a metallic finish to them. There are also new set of allow wheels but the headlamps continue with the same LED setup. There have been updates to the handle bars which are wider for a better riding stance and the seats are also more comfortable. There are also changes in crash guards which are now wider than before.
It gets new upside down open cartridge forks and revised front fender. The rear monoshock has been updated with new spring rates for better shock absorption. Its 320mm front disc brake now gets radially mounted brake callipers for better braking. Other updates include a more comprehensive instrument console, revised graphics and new colors as well.
The engine is much more refined that before. The vibrations that were a big complain of the outgoing model have been well rectified and it now develops 5 PS more than the outgoing model at 39.9 PS and that too at 650 rpm higher than before. Torque figure stays the same at 35 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission that even comes with a slipper clutch.

Now all these set of updates has made the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 significantly better than before and that shows in the sales as well. Last month, post launch of the 2019 Bajaj Dominar, sales was reported at 1,346 units. In May, the number was up at 1,888 units, up 58 percent from 1,191 units sold last May. Current fiscal sales are reported at 3,234 units, up 26.13 percent from 2,564 units sold during April-May 2018.

The new Bajaj Dominar 400 is priced at Rs.1.73 lakhs, Rs.11,000 over the outgoing model. It continues to rival the TVS Apache 310, BMW G310R, Honda CB300R, Royal Enfield 650 Twins and KTM Duke 390. It also puts up a fight against with the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X and the Honda CBR250R in terms of pricing.
