The flagship sedan, 7 Series from the German Automaker packs some new design on the exteriors as well the interiors.
BMW will finally launch the new 7 series in India on July 25th. The new facelift model packs a new design on the exteriors, a new powertrain and revised interiors. It also packs a new powertrain and the power-packed M760Li. The flagship sedan competes against the likes of Mercedes S-class, Audi A8, Jaguar XJL and Lexus LS.
The most prominent change is the new signature kidney grille which is now larger in size and the BMW laser lights. The grille up front looks intimidating and gets chrome surrounds. The side profile of the car looks similar to the current one but packs more muscle. The rear enhances the look with wider exhaust pipes with chrome garnishing. And the tail lights are now slimmer.
Talking about the powertrain, the sedan will see numerous engine options including the plug-in hybrid with 740L trims. The electric motor will be combined with the same 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine producing 280 bhp with 450 Nm of peak torque. The power output from electric motor stays at 111 bhp and the total power delivery stands at 391 bhp.

Another 4.4-litre, twin turbo V8 engine, churns out a total of 530 bhp along with a healthy torque of 750 Nm. BMW claims that 0-100 km/h sprint can be done well under 4 seconds. Both the engines will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. BMW will also launch the straight-six diesel engine which produces 261 bhp with a peak torque of 620 Nm. However, the power figures might be re-tuned a little bit.
Now the interiors of the new BMW 7 series receives subtle changes with the conventional design and easy functionality BMW provides. The inside is expected to see new dashboard design along with a fully digital instrument cluster and a revised infotainment system.
It will get a Harman/Kardon music system for a surround experience, wireless charging, BMW iDrive system with the new infotainment unit, lane-monitoring, in-built perfume are some of the features expected in the new facelifted sedan. A newly designed steering wheel with updated controls, upgraded seats which provide comfort and are finished in leather.

The flagship sedan competes against the likes of Mercedes S-class, Audi A8, Jaguar XJL and Lexus LS. The expected price for the upcoming sedan is Rs 1.40 crore for the base trim.
