Toyota Glanza Waiting Period soars high due to competitive pricing. The car competes with Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz, Maruti Baleno and Volkswagen Polo.
Toyota Glanza was launched on June 6, 2019, and it’s the brand’s first premium hatchback. There is not much about the car as it is just a restyled Baleno. However, what differentiates the car is Toyota’s brand value and competitive pricing.
Furthermore, the sources reveal that Toyota Glanza sees a waiting period of at least one month. Launched with an introductory price of Rs 7.22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) the car picked up the right notch with its rivals.
The base variant ‘G’ only comes in 5-speed manual transmission and the car is available with a mild hybrid system. It is powered by a 1.2-litre motor which churns out 89 bhp with 113 Nm of torque. This engine returns a fuel economy of 23.87 kmpl compared to the 21.01 kmpl for the 83 bhp, 1.2-litre.

The base variant which comes with a mild hybrid engine is at least Rs 65,000 cheaper than the Maruti Baleno Zeta 1.2 Dualjet engine which could be another reason why the car is being in such popular demand.
Toyota Glanza top-spec ‘V’ variant with CVT gearbox also sees a waiting period of at least two months. The reason is that Maruti only dispatched over 2500 units to Toyota dealers and the number of top-end trims were very few. All engines of the Toyota Glanza are BS-VI compliant.
Now talking about the design of the car, Toyota Glanza is nothing but a redesigned Baleno which undercuts its cousin in pricing. A total of four variants, ‘G’ MT with a mild-hybrid engine, ‘G’ CVT with the 1.2-litre petrol motor, ‘V’ MT and ‘V’ CVT with a 1.2-litre petrol motor are available.
Toyota Glanza comes with Projector Headlamps with LED DRL’s, LED tail lights, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, twin-slat grille at the front and Toyota’s badging at the front profile, rear and on the steering wheel.
It also comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CraPlay and Android Auto. It also gets a navigation system, reverse parking camera, multi-function steering wheel and several other features.
Safety Features are limited to Dual Front Airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, ISOFIX mount child seats, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminder and a high-speed alert system.
