Hero Splendor iSmart receives the BS-6 certification, making Hero the first two-wheeler manufacturer in India. The entire updated portfolio will be launched before time.
Hero Motocorp has received the Type Approval Certificate from International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) for the Splendor iSmart. Now, the bike is BS-6 compliant.
To get the approval, a manufacturer has to develop a prototype and getting it tested for ICAT. Once approved, the bike becomes BS-6 compliant. Now, Hero can commence the production of the BS-6 Splendor.
The compliant motorcycle has been developed in-house at their R&D hub, Center of Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur, Rajasthan. FYI, the BS-6 Splendor iSmart has not been launched yet.
