Mahindra XUV300 AMT will cost you about Rs 55,000 more than the Manual Transmission.
The rising competition in the sub-4-metre compact SUV segment has lead to car manufacturers step up their game to offer more to the buyer. Hyundai brought in the Venue, Maruti launched sports edition to the Brezza, Ford launched thunder edition of the Ecosport and now Mahindra XUV300 AMT launch is expected by later month.
Launched in February 2019, it immediately grabbed the attention of the buyers due to its unique styling and segment first features. It came with strong petrol and turbocharged diesel engine, however, the option of the automatic transmission was still loose until now.
The XUV300 spotted here is the undisguised AMT model that is shooting for a TVC. Rear profile sees a badging of AutoShift on the top- end trim W8. The compact SUV will get a Magneti-Marelli-sourced AMT when launched.

Upon launch, Mahindra XUV300 diesel AMT will compete with the likes of Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The petrol automatic will have to make its pace with the DCT transmission of Hyundai Venue and Ford Ecosport, torque converter unit.
Mahindra XUV300 gets two engine option, 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine, both of which are turbocharged. The 3-cylinder petrol motor generates 110 bhp with 200 Nm of peak torque while the diesel churns out 115 bhp with 300Nm of torque from a four-cylinder motor. Both the engines get mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Mahindra XUV300 is also expected to launch a new BS-VI compliance engine later this year. A test mule was also reported earlier and most likely the petrol motor will come first followed by the diesel engine.

The prices of the Mahindra XUV300 AMT starts at Rs 7.9 lakh for the base trim and goes all the way till Rs 11.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The prices for the AMT will be about Rs 55,000 premium than its manual counterparts. The features of the car are expected to remain the same.
