Hyundai Venue accounts a total of 7,000 units in sales and the numbers are still growing. The car competes with Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford Ecosport.
Hyundai’s entry to the sub-4-metre compact SUV segment might be a little late but the party is still on as ‘Venue’ beat the Mahindra XUV300 and Tata Nexon in sales by grabbing a second position. Hyundai Venue sales cross 7,000 units and the numbers are growing rapidly.
Launched on May 21, Hyundai Venue grabbed eyeballs of other car manufacturers due to the competitive pricing and the base variant costing just Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The compact SUV packs loads of bells and whistles and some segment first features which the competition lacks.
Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue main competitor suffered a massive drop in sales to about 44%. However, the former still tops the chart in sales and Venue takes the second place. It will be a few more months until we tell you if Venue beats the compact SUV king, Brezza, in the near future or not.

The new Mahindra XUV300 sales stood at 5,113 units which makes it ahead of Tata Nexon which stood fourth in the competition. Mahindra XUV300 was launched in February this year and the SUV offers features like disc brakes on all wheels, large touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control and more.

The dominating Tata Nexon despite being at fourth position saw a growth of 5% for May’19 as compared to May’18. Tata sold a total of 4,506 units of Nexon compared to just 4,308 in the last year.
One of the main highlights that why Hyundai Venue sales crossed to over 7,000 units could be the low pricing of the SUV and the features. Hyundai Blue-Link technology with features such as Remote Start/Door Unlock/Climate Control, Real-time navigation is the first in its segment.
Other features such as an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electric sunroof, cruise control, automatic climate control, wireless charger, Air-Purifier, Voice Command make the car an upmarket product.
Safety features are limited to Six airbags, ABD with EBD, speed sensing auto door lock, rear parking sensors with reverse camera, ISOFIX child seats, Hill Assist Control and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).

Hyundai Venue gets three engine options – 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The naturally aspirated engine produces 83 bhp with 113 Nm of torque and gets mated to 5-speed manual transmission.
The turbocharged petrol gets mated to 7-speed DCT or 6-speed manual gearbox and power output is 120 bhp on tap with 172 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine produces 89 bhp with 220Nm of peak torque.
Hyundai Venue is available in a total of 13 variants with 10 colour options to choose from. The prices for the same starts at Rs 6.5 lakh for the base variant and goes upto Rs 11.11 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-end trim.
