Maruti once again tops the list of best-selling cars for the month of April 2019 while Hyundai bags the second position.
Indian car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki yet again proves to be number one in sales for the month of April 2019. Despite a grumpy bump in 2019 financial year with passenger vehicle segment having their worst-ever monthly sales Maruti topped the charts followed by Hyundai in top 10 best selling cars for April, 2019.
The yearly sales of Maruti Suzuki are down by 20%, from 1,63,434 units sold in April 2018 to just 1,31,385 units for April 2019. Hyundai, on the other hand, suffered a 10% decline in sales, from selling 46,735 units in April 2018 to 42,005 units in April this year.

Maruti Alto dominated the market being sold to 22,766 units for April 2019. Maruti recently updated the Auto with some tweaks in the design part and the major update was the introduction of BS-VI compliance engine. This makes the only entry-level hatchback to have gotten the details under the hood.

The car also got upgraded with safety features like rear parking sensors, driver-side airbag, ABS, seat-belt reminder and speed-alert system. Alto competes against the likes of Renault Kwid and Datsun RediGO.
The second in line is the Maruti Dzire which sells more than Baleno, Swift and the sub-4-metre compact SUV, Vitara Brezza.
Premium hatchback Maruti Baleno beats its rival Elite i20 by 17,355 units than 10,411 units of the latter.
Hyundai makes an entry at the seventh place to sale 10,487 units of the Creta. The car recently improved their line up by adding an EX variant for both petrol and diesel engines. This adds more features like LED daytime running lights, rear-parking camera, adjustable rear-seat headrests, turn indicators on ORVM’s and rear-seat armrest with a cupholder.
Maruti Eeco gained ninth spot by selling a total of 10,254 units for April 2019. Maruti also upgraded safety features in Eeco by adding driver side airbag, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors.
Hyundai Grand i10 holds the last place by selling a total of 9,160 units. Mind you, the hatchback managed to sell 12,174 units for the month of April 2018.

Maruti Brezza saw an increase of nine percent in its April 2019 sale as compared to April 2018. The carmaker sold about 11,785 units of the compact SUV as compared to the 10,818 in April 2018.
