MG Hector comes with i-SMART technology and is India’s first internet car which comes with 50+ connected features.
Earlier we told you about MG Hector bookings have commenced unofficially via dealers through a cheque of Rs 50000. Now the official update from the MG Motors has come that bookings for their first premium SUV, Hector, will start from June 4, 2019.
MG Motors will proceed with the online bookings at 12 noon on its official website. Currently, the brand has 120 touch up points (sales and services) across the nation and the company plans to have 250 touch up ints by September this year.
MG Hector is the first connected mid-size SUV which comes with next-gen i-SMART technology that promises safe, connected and fun experiences at all times. The rear badging of the SUV also reads out ‘Internet Inside’.

Talking about the unique styling of the vehicle, it does looks imposing and easily intimidates its rivals. It features a split headlight design, LED daytime running lights mounted on top and LED headlamps on the bumper. Roof-mounted spoiler, faux skid plates on both front and rear bumper, large 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and LED Taillamps gives the SUV a distinct look.
The inside of MG Hector packs a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It gets equipped with i-SMART technology which helps you note the real-time navigation, make emergency calls and comes with built-in apps like Gaana, Accu Weather etc.
It also gets a panoramic sunroof and 8-colour ambient lighting, tyre-pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera are also some of the features the car gets.

As India’s first internet car with 50+ connected features, the Hector will come with 19 exclusive product features, making it the new benchmark in its segment. Customers will be able to experience the Hector first-hand very soon and we are ready to welcome new customers into the world of MG.”

MG Hector is powered by two petrol and one diesel engine. The 1.5-litre petrol motor churns out 142 bhp with 250 Nm of torque. The other engine will be a 46-V mild hybrid engine which increases the fuel efficiency by 12%. It will be mated to a manual and automatic transmission.
The FCA sourced 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine produces 170 bhp with 350 Nm of peak torque. It will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. MG Hector will compete against Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV500. The prices are expected to range from 15 lakh for the base trim to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-end variant.
