Toyota is all set to launch their first product from the Maruti-Toyota partnership which, the Glanza, on June 6, 2019. Dealer partners across the country have already started making provisions for the new car including staff training and stocking the car. Even, select Toyota dealers across the country have started accepting pre-booking orders, the booking amount ranging from Rs. 10,000 – Rs. 50,000 depending on the dealership.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno-based Toyota Glanza will be sold with two engine options. There will be the 1.2-litre K12C DualJet engine which was recently debuted on the Baleno. Toyota will also introduce mild-hybrid technology with this engine. This engine churns out 90 hp of max power and 113 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The second engine on offer will be the 1.2-litre, K12B petrol engine which produces 83hp of max power and a similar 113 Nm of peak torque. This engine is also from Maruti and it will come mated to either a CVT gearbox or a 5-speed manual. Both the engines will be BS-VI emission norms compliant right from the launch.

As far as fuel economy is concerned, the Glanza V MT will deliver 21.01kpl, the G MT (Smart Hybrid) will return 23.87kpl, and the CVT has a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.56kpl.
The Glanza will come in two trims only – the V and the G – and so you can expect them to be pretty well loaded, even with the base variant. It will have automatic climate control, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, navigation and voice commands. Safety features will include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and a reverse camera, along with speed and seatbelt warning systems to confirm to the latest safety regulations.

Toyota will have an edge over the Baleno in terms of the warranty. Toyota is expected to offer three-year/1,00,000km warranty as standard as is available on all other Toyota models in India. When launched, the Toyota Glanza will take on the likes of the Baleno, the i20, the Jazz, the Polo and the upcoming Tata Altroz.
