The Kia SP interior boasts of a large 10.25 inch infotainment screen, digital climate control display, drive mode selector and many other premium features.
After revealing the exterior design sketches of the Kia SP SUV a few days ago, Kia Motors India has now revealed the interior design sketches of SP SUV as well. In fact, the Kia SP interior design sketches look very similar to the interior of the SP Concept we saw in Auto Expo, last year. If this is what makes it to production, then boy does it look good!
The sketches reveal a very neatly laid out dashboard. Kia has already revealed the infotainment screen size of the SP SUV to be 10.25 inches. The infotainment screen takes center stage on the dashboard below which there are the horizontally stacked AC vents. There are vertically stacked AC vents on the two edges of the dashboard. As for the infotainment system, it seems to have Kia’s latest software unit and will also be Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible. It will also feature a navigation system and voice command to name a few other features.
The Kia SP will also feature other fancy features like driver talk and and quite mode. The drive talk feature uses a microphone to amplify the sound to let the driver communicate better with the passengers on the second row. The quite mode re-directs sound from the audio system to the front speakers only so that second row passengers are not disturbed. It will also have 360 degree parking camera.
Further down on the center console, there’s a rectangular digital screen for the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning unit. It’s a single-zone climate control unit and the single dial on the screen must be for changing temperature or airflow. Right down below, there’s also a place to rest your phone which, in the higher trims is expected to be wireless charging spot.
The Kia SP SUV gets the signature three-spoke Kia steering wheel that also houses buttons for the Bluetooth, volume controls and cruise control. Although the instrument cluster is only partially visible behind the steering wheel in the sketches, we can tell that it is surrounded by a piano black frame flowing from the infotainment screen. It gets analog tachometer and speedometer but there’s also a coloured multi-info display in between them. Higher models will most likely get a heads-up display.

The Kia SP interiors really seem premium in the dual-tone finish in the sketches. The dashboard is mostly black but a beige trim, which most likely be faux wood, runs across the dashboard and also around the gear lever and it looks very classy. Then, there are lighter colored materials on the seats and door pads as well.
What really lifts up the interiors are the generous use of faux brushed-aluminum trims used on the steering wheel, door pads, air-con vent surrounds and on the center console as well. There’s even a passenger sided grab bar that beautifully flows down from the climate control display unit. Kia has also confirmed that the SP SUV will get ambient mood lighting as well.

The sketches reveal a tiptronic-like gate at the gear lever which comes surrounded by the fauz wood trim that’s also on the dashboard. There’s also a rotary dial around the gear lever which most likely will be a drive-mode selector. Overall, it appears to be a very well appointed interior with good quality materials used and seems pretty loaded in terms of features as well.
The Kia SP SUV will come with 1.5L petrol and diesel engines with both manual and automatic gearbox options. There will also be a sportier variant with a 1.4L, turbo petrol engine which will come mated to a dual-clutch transmission. When launched, the Kia SP SUV will go against the MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur and Hyundai Creta.
