The Range Rover Sport petrol with the 2.0L, Ingenium petrol engine effectively replaces the 3.0L, Supercharged, V6 diesel engine and also reduces the entry price point of the Range Rover Sport.
Jaguar Land Rover India has launched the 2019 Range Rover Sport with a new 2.0L, petrol engine at a price of Rs. 86.71 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). The Range Rover Sport petrol will be available in three trims – S, SE and HSE.
The Ingenium 2.0L petrol engine effectively replaces the 3.0L, Supercharged, V6 diesel engine that was the previous entry point to the Range Rover Sport. The former produces 296 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque while the latter was capable of producing 355 bhp of power. Land Rover say that this engine can do the 0-100 kph sprint in just 7.1 seconds and is good for a top speed of just above 200 kph.
Other engine options for the Range Rover Sport includes a 4.4-litre diesel V8, 3-litre petrol V6 and range-topping 5-litre petrol V8 SVR. Prices ranged from Rs 1.04 crore for the diesel V6, going up to Rs 2.05 crore, ex-showroom for the SVR. However, with this new petrol engine, JLR has effectively reduced the entry price for the Range Rover Sport.

There has been some minor visual updates to the exterior of the Range Rover Sport for the 2019 model year. It gets a new sleeker looking grille with Matrix LED headlamps and DRLs. It also gets sequential illuminating turn indicators. The front bumper has been tweaked a little and sits lower than before to feed more cool air to the brakes. The sides remain largely the same but at the rear, the bumpers have been tweaked a little and now feature dual exhaust pipes on either sides. There are new wheel rim designs along with new Byron blue and Rossello Red paint options as well.

On the interiors, the Range Rover Sport comes with the new Touch-Pro Duo infotainment system by which the upper screen is for your infotainment and the lower screen features the climate controls and various other vehicle controls. It also comes with sliding panoramic roof, powered tailgate, three-zone climate control, park pack, cabin air ionisation, 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display and full color heads-up display.

The Range Rover Sport sits above the Velar and below the flagship Range Rover. It has always been at a sweet spot in the Range Rover range that combines adequate sportiness with luxury. With this new petrol engine, it becomes all the more accessible and continues to be a sensational JLR product.
