MG Hector bookings open in Noida for Rs 50000 by cheque.
MG Motors dealerships have now started taking bookings unofficially for their first SUV, Hector. For a booking amount of Rs 50,000, a dealer in Noida has started taking post-dated cheque’s for June 1, 2019, and early buyers will be given a priority. However, there are no such official updates from MG India.
MG will first open its showroom in Delhi on June 4, 2019, and the manufacturer plans to have a total of 50 dealerships with 120 touch points (sales and services). MG Hector bookings will be from 01 June 2019 officially. The numbers for the touch points are expected to increase in the following months.
MG Hector offers the first in segment features like i-SMART infotainment system which makes it the first connected SUV. The 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The system offers you real-time navigation, in-built apps, vehicle status and makes emergency calls too. It comes pre-loaded with apps like Gaana, Accu Weather etc. MG Hector also gets a large panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, driver and co-driver power adjustable seats, tyre pressure monitoring system, 8-colour ambient lighting are some of the exclusive features that are on the list.
Talking about the engine, it will be powered by both petrol and diesel engine. The 1.5-litre petrol engine churns out 142bhp with 250Nm of peak torque. The SUV will also get a 48V mild hybrid engine which is said to be twelve percent more efficient than the petrol engine.

The FCA sourced 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine generates 175bhp with 350Nm of peak torque. The SUV gets 6-speed manual gearbox for diesel engine and 7-speed DCT transmission for the petrol engine.
Currently, MG Hector will be launched in a 5-seat layout but 7-seater Hector will soon hit the market somewhere around 2020. The SUV will compete with the likes of Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV500. MG Hector is expected to start at a price of Rs 15 lakh and go up to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
