In a scoop, we have discovered that the global production of Kia Optima sedan will commence by August 2019. Its India launch is expected by the end of 2019.
Kia Motors is very popular in the global market with its range of sedans, hatchback, SUVs and EVs as well. It is a sister brand to the giant Hyundai Motors, thus sharing technologies and engines.
The Keea has leaked that the global production of Next-generation Kia Optima is set to commence by August 2019. Till now, the sedan has only been spied on the Korean roads.
Reports suggest that the updated sedan might be launched in September 2019. The first set of pre-production units are already out for testing purposes.

The 2020 Kia Optima will see a revised set of engines, improved ergonomics and minor design changes. The performance of all the engines will receive a much needed upgrade.
It is most likely to get a new engine in the form of a new 2.5 Litre Theta3 engine. It will replace the earlier 2.4 Litre and 2.0 Litre engines, that were reportedly giving some long term issues.
The second engine offered will the new 1.6 Turbo GDi. Both the engines will be turbocharged. The 2.5 Litre engine will deliver 286 BHP and will come mated to a 8-speed DCT and an AWD system.

Talking about its India launch, Yes, reports confirm that the 2020 Kia Optima sedan is set to make a debut here. There are chances of the sedan being launched or unveiled in India by the end of this year.
Once launched in India, it will go against the likes of Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis and Skoda Octavia. The D-Segment sedan class is not that popular, but a new entrant might jazz up things.
Currently, Kia Motors is set to make its debut in India very soon. Its upcoming SP SUV is scheduled to be unveiled in India next month. Along with Optima sedan, Kia has also planned the Grand Carnival (Sedona) MPV for India.
