KTM Duke 790 was speculated to launch in India, back in December 2018. However, the upcoming naked street racer has now been delayed by four months.
KTM is left with two big launches for this year; 390 Adventure and 790 Duke. Both the bikes are being delayed for quite a time now, while the latter will now be launched by September 2019.
KTM Duke 790 is one of the most popular middle-weight naked street bikes. It is known for its aggressive nature and uses the most powerful engine in its segment.
The Duke uses a 799cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine is tuned to deliver 105 BHP and 86 Nm of peak torque, while mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a Quick Shifter System.

Interestingly, Duke 790 was recently spotted at a Bajaj warehouse, along side other KTM bikes. Also, the manufacturer is reportedly setting up a new assembly line, for the supervision and managing the quality check.
It will enter the Indian shores by the CKD Route and not imported. The chassis, suspension, engine and technology will be imported. Based on the spy shots, we can confirm that the bike is already being tested near Pune.
For suspension, KTM Duke 790 uses 43mm WP Split USD Forks at the front and gas-charged adjustable monoshock absorber. Dual 300mm discs at the front and a 240mm disc at the back with Switchable ABS, providing the braking powers.

Safety aids include traction control, cornering ABS, Traction Control, Different Riding modes, Wheelie Control. WP Steering Damper and much more. Electronics include TFT colour instrument panel, Slip and Assist Clutch, LED headlamps.
We expect the Duke 790 to be priced around Rs 6.5 Lakhs to Rs 7 Lakhs (ex-showroom), given that it is a CKD unit. It will go against Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Twin, MV Agusta Brutale, Ducati Monster 821 and Suzuki GSX-S750.
