Jeep Compass Trailhawk to be priced around Rs. 25 Lakhs when it’s launched.
The talks of Jeep launching the Compass Trailhawk has been going on for a long time and the wait has been a rather long one. However, we can now expect that Jeep is finally going to launch the Compass Trailhawk in July and prices of this off-road biased Compass is likely to start from Rs. 25 lakhs.
Mechanical Updates
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is a more rugged version of the regular Compass and it wears the ‘Trail-Rated’ badges for a good reason. It comes very several off-road goodies like Jeep’s Active Drive Low 4×4 system, which is essentially a low range gearbox to deliver maximum torque at low speeds and other features like a rear locking differential, hill descent control and even an additional Rock mode for the Selec-Terrain system.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk has a ground clearance of 225mm which is 20mm higher than the standard Compass. The front and rear bumpers have also been redesigned to improve the the approach and departure angles. The approach angle now stands at 30 degrees and the departure angle is at 33.6 degrees.

Jeep has also equipped the Compass Trailhawk with front and rear skid plates to protect the underbody when the vehicle is driving over rocks or any other obstacles. The air-intake too has been positioned higher to improve the water wading capacity of the Compass Trailhawk which now stands at 480mm over the standard Compass’s 405mm. All season tires and all-weather floor mats complete off its off-road credentials.
Exterior Design
There are several visual indicators to differentiate the Trailhawk from the standard Compass. For starters, the bumpers have been redesigned and now feature two red painted tow hooks which look rather cool. The bonnet wears a new matte-black decal which is supposed to prevent glare reflecting from the bonnet on the driver’s eyes and of course, the ‘Trail-Rated’ badges. The Compass Trailhawk also gets new dual-tone wheel designs.
Interior Design
On the interior, the Compass Trailhawk is expected to have new color schemes to make the cabin a little more lively. The Compass already had a very nice interior and came fully loaded with features like an 8.4 inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, reverse camera with parking sensors, automatic headlamps and panoramic sunroof among many others.
The Compass Trailhawk is expected to continue with the same 2.0L diesel engine which produces 173 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque. However, this time it will be updated to be BS-VI emission norms compliant. It will also feature a new 9-speed automatic gearbox for the first time.
