Honda CBR650R makes its debut in the Indian market, two months after its booking commenced. Priced at Rs 7.70 Lakhs (ex-showroom), it replaces the CBR650F.
Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India (HMSI) has launched its new middle-weight sportsbike in India. The CBR650R is priced at Rs 7.70 Lakhs (ex-showroom Pan-India).
The bookings for this bike began in February, for Rs 15,000. Such premium motorcycles are available at the Honda WingWorld dealerships and the exclusively launched Honda BigWing dealership, and not at the regular ones.
Honda CBR650R replaces the CBRR650F, which was discontinued a couple of months back. Since it is bought via the CKD route, the prices are considerably lower.

CBR650R uses a 649cc liquid-cooled inline-four cylinder engine, that is capable of producing 87 BHP at 11500 RPM and 60.1 Nm of peak torque at 8000 RPM. It uses a 6-speed gearbox with Assist/Slipper clutch.
For suspension purposes, Honda CBR650R uses 41mm Showa Separate Fork Function USD forks at the front and pre-load adjustable pro-link monoshock at the back. Its chassis is lighter than the 650F by 6 Kgs.
Braking is taken care of by 310mm double discs with radially mounted Nissin callipers at the front and a 240mm single disc at the back. A dual-channel ABS comes as standard fitment.
Features onboard include full LED headlamps, LED tail lights, low-positioned clip-on handlebars and a fully digital LCD instrument console with gear position indicator and gear shift indicator.

The Honda CBR650R is available in two colour options – Grand Prix Red and Matte GunPowder Black. The deliveries of the sportsbike will commence by the end of this month.
It will face a stiff competition from Kawasaki Ninja 650, which is the only middle-weight sportsbike in India.
