Despite maintaining its second best-selling two-wheeler position, the sales figures of Honda Activa have gone down sharply, in the previous month.
Honda Activa is India’s best selling scooter, and also the second-best selling two-wheeler. Its monthly sales are usually above 1.5 Lakh units, whereas its nearest competitor is well below a Lakh.
However, for the month of March 2019, it has registered a decline, making 1.48 Lakh units. Comparing it with February, the figures stood at 2.05 Lakh units, seeing a decline of nearly 30%.
The overall scooter market has fallen down this month, compared to motorcycles. Activa is the major contributor to the overall sales of Honda two-wheelers.

Fresh reports from Livemint suggest that Honda has cut the production of Activa by 15-20% for this quarter. The vendors have also been notified about the same, who usually stock up the supplies based on the production figures.
Talking about the complete two-wheeler segment, the scooter markets have gone down. Reports suggest that the inclusion of CBS has made the scooters costlier, thus resulting in low demand.
This has also resulted Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India loosing its second position, in the best-selling manufacturers. TVS has replaced Honda, following Hero Motocorp on the first rank.

Honda Activa 5G uses a 110cc HET engine, that is capable of producing 8 BHP and 9 Nm of torque. The esimated mileage of the scooter is nearly 54 kmpl, which offers a riding range of nearly 250-260 kms.
Features onboard include LED Headlamps, Digital Analog Meter with Eco Speed Indicator, 4-in-1 Lock with seat opening switch, Service Indicator, Front hook and retractable rear hook, CBS with equalizer and a mobile charging socket.
Activa does not face stiff competition from any scooter. However, in its price range of Rs 54,524 to Rs 56,389 (ex-showroom), you can opt for TVS Jupiter and Hero Destini 125.
