This new Renault Duster is not a generation update but a just a facelift of the existing iteration consisting of updates in sync with the new safety norms.
Renault is soon going to introduce an all-new version of the Duster in India. However, contrary to our expectations, this new version is not going to be a complete generation update. However, it will be just a facelift of the current iteration.
The changes will include minor updates in accordance with the upcoming safety regulations. These will include a front end which complies with pedestrian protection norms. Also, a body structure which is compliant with front offset, full-frontal and side impact.
Cosmetic changes will include a new design for the headlamps. In fact, the entire front fascia is likely to come with one change or the other. These will include a new bumper, new front grille and revised housing for the fog-lamps. That said, the basic silhouette of this vehicle will remain the same as before.

The side profile is not going to feature any major upgrade. Though there will be a new set of alloy wheels on offer. The rear fascia could get a new set of tail-lamps. And there could be some minor revisions on the bumper as well.
In addition to tinkering the exterior design of the new Duster, Renault is likely to introduce minor changes inside the cabin as well. We are not sure if the layout of the dashboard will be altered or not, but expect it to get better quality materials. Also, expect the feature list of this vehicle to improve as well.

The engine specifications of the new Renault Duster are likely to change as well. Whether Renault decides to introduce all-new Bharat State VI engines or upgrade the existing ones, remains to be seen. Prices for the updated iteration of this vehicle are likely to go up.
When launched, this new iteration of the Renault Duster is going to compete against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and the upcoming Kia SP2i SUV.
