Citing input costs as the main reason, Renault India has announced that it is going to increase the prices of the Kwid hatchback by 3% from April’19.
Starting April 2019 i.e. next-month, Renault India is going to increase the prices of its entry-level offering, the Kwid. The French automaker has cited rising inputs costs as the main reason behind the said price hike. From 1st April 2019, the prices of the Renault Kwid will increase by up to 3%.
The Renault Kwid currently competes in the entry-level hatchback segment in India. Its main rivals include the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto and Datsun redi-Go. Currently, the prices of the Kwid falls in-between the range of INR 2.67 lakh to INR 4.63 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Kwid stands as one of the most feature list vehicles in its segment. It offers a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation and a rotary dial for changing gears in the AMT variant.

It is available with a 0.8-litre petrol engine along with a 1.0-litre petrol engine as well. The former 53 BHP of power along with 72 Nm of peak torque. While the later offers 67 BHP along with 91 Nm of peak torque.
Both these engine are available with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. The 1.0-litre engine is also available with an optional AMT.
In accordance with the approaching safety regulations, Renault has recently introduced certain active as well as passive safety features for the Kwid. These include a driver side airbag, Anti-Lock braking system, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, driver and passenger seat belt warning along with rear parking sensors as standard fitment.

Recently, the next-generation iteration of the Renault Kwid was spotted testing internationally. It is likely that the same will make its debut in India sometime during the month of October 2019. It is going to feature an all-new design, a stiffer chassis along with a possible upgrade in terms of its feature list.
