The Kia SP2i concept based compact SUV will compete against the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross in India.
The Kia SP2i based compact SUV has been spotted testing. The test mule seen in the images seems to be a production-ready avatar. This vehicle is expected to launch in India sometime during the second half of this year.
When launched, the Kia SP2i concept based compact SUV will compete against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and the Maruti Suzuki s-Cross. Consequently, its prices will fall in-between the range of INR 10 lakh to INR 15 lakh (ex-showroom).

Going by the test-mule seen in the spy images, we can deduce that the SP2i is bigger in comparison to the Hyundai Creta. Just to remind you, this all-new SUV is based on the same platform as that of the Hyundai Creta. And there are chances that it will share some of its components with the latter as well.
In terms of its exterior design, this vehicle takes quite a lot of its inspiration from the SP2i concept which we saw at the 2018 Auto Expo. Kia is going to make sure that this compact SUV comes across as a premium offering.

In terms of features, the Kia SP2i will be packed up-to-the-brim. It is going to get leather upholstery, automatic climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, LEd projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, diamond cut alloy wheels to name a few.
The Kia SP2i based compact SUV is going to launch in India with petrol and diesel engine options. Media reports state that this vehicle will share its engine specifications with the Hyundai Creta. This means that it is going to get a 1.6-litre petrol engine. While the diesel engine is also going to be a 1.6-litre unit.
Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual gearbox. In addition to this, there will be a 6-speed automatic gearbox on offer as well.
