The 2019 Honda Civic is available with a 1.8-litre petrol engine (CVT) and a 1.6-litre diesel engine (MT); It is available in a total of three variants.
The 10th generation Honda Civic has finally made its official debut in India. The Japanese automaker has priced this D-Segment sedan in-between the range of INR 17.69 lakh to INR 22.69 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in petrol as well as diesel engine options, However, the choices are limited when it comes to its transmission options. The Civic is going to compete against the likes of Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Corolla Altis and the Skoda Octavia in the Indian market. Honda says they have received 1100 bookings so far, equivalent to 2 months of cumulative D-Segment demand.

Honda has launched the 10th generation Civic in a total of three different variants. These are namely V, VX and the ZX. Right from the base variant onwards, you get some exciting features and creature comforts. The list includes 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, a key-less entry with push-button start-/stop, projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, paddle shifters (petrol only), LED tail-lamps, ABS with EBD to name a few. Mind you, the base V variant is only available for the petrol derivative.

That said, the 2019 Honda Civic’s top-spec ZX variant offers some pretty exclusive features as well. Over the V and VX trims, the ZX comes with features such as full-LED headlamps, 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, lane-watch camera, an electric sunroof, rain-sensing wipers to name a few.

The engine line-up of the 2019 Honda Civic consists of petrol as well as diesel powertrain options. The petrol engine is a 1.8-litre unit. This is the same motor which used to perform its duties on the 8th generation of the Civic. However, for the current iteration, it has been upgraded and now meets the upcoming BS-VI emission regulations. This engine is capable to produce 140 BHP of power along with 174 Nm of peak torque. It comes as standard with a CVT automatic gearbox.
For the first time, the Honda Civic arrives in the Indian market with a diesel engine option in its portfolio. The oil-burner is a 1.6-litre unit, the same which we saw on the Honda CR-V. This engine is capable to churn out 120 BHP of power along with 300 Nm of peak torque. It comes as standard with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
